A Paradoxical Blessing
Because thou sayest, I am rich…and knowest not that thou art…poor…~ Rev. 3:17
I know thy…poverty, (but thou art rich)…~ Rev. 3:17; 2:9
Jesus tells us it is possible for some to be a Rich Poor Man but at the same time others to be A Poor Rich Man.
There are examples of this in scripture: The rich man in hell was poor, while the poor man laid at his gate was rich. The latter would testify, “The blessings of the Lord, it maketh rich.”~ Prov. 10:22.
Paul brings this truth out most vividly, “…as poor, yet making many rich…”~ 2 Cor.6:10. Peter said to the lame man whom he got back on his feet, “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”~ Acts 3:6 You can’t put a price-tag for getting a man back on his feet again!
And who can ever forget the richest Man in the universe, and what the Bible says of HIM! “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.”~ 2 Cor. 8:9
Remember, while on earth He had to borrow a penny to give an illustration. “Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.”~ Mk. 12:15
NEVER FORGET! IT WAS ALL FOR YOU AND ME!
