“[Thine], O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is [thine]; [thine] is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.”~ 1 Chron. 29:11
Does our text remind you of Revelation chapters four and five? (read them) Or Jesus’ lesson to His disciples on how to pray, in Matthew chapter six, verse 13? (read it)
Everything is His: greatness, power, glory, victory, and majesty! It is all His and He will not share it with another; ask Lucifer, Isa. 14:12-15. (read it)
God, says David, is everything and man is nothing. He tells us God is the sovereign Lord and owner of all persons and things! This comes from the lips of a man who is now old and near the end of his journey on earth. The one who stole the heart of God. Is it any wonder then that his God loved him so?
O, how we need to get back, as our forefathers, to the awesomeness of God. “Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.”~ Psa. 33:8.
Have you lost your “AWE” of Him? If so, as Elisha said to the man who lost his axe-head, "Where fell it?" You will find it where you lost it.
“Praise the God of all creation,
Praise the Father’s boundless love;
Praise the Lamb, our expiration,
Priest and King enthroned above.
Praise the fountain of salvation,
Him by whom our spirits live;
Undivided adoration
To the One Jehovah give.”
(Josiah Conder, 1789-1855)
