“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.”~ Heb. 11:8
Question—Are we ready to take a new step of faith should the Lord so indicate? Not only was Abraham ready, but was ready to start a new venture in his life at seventy-five. With this old man, for his God it was anytime, anyplace, willing to do anything, at any cost!
God can and does disturb at will whenever He chooses. He does not ask us if it is convenient. The aged saint’s obedience, though severely tested, brought untold blessing to all around him and to the world itself.
He lost it all to gain it all in God. His nomadic spirit should be a challenge to each of us, young or old. Such people are willing to “Risk it all on God.”
As Longfellow wrote:
“For age is opportunity no less
Than youth itself, though in another dress.”
All this was accomplished by faith in his wonderful God! And with such faith God is pleased, Heb. 11:6.
