Behind the Word
Behind a word is a thought; behind a thought is an intellect; behind the intellect is a person; and behind the person is a character, good or bad.
If God was “In the beginning,” that would necessitate His existence before the beginning. Hence, the Eternal Word is correct in its usage. God was the original ‘WORDSMITH!’ before the world began!
Is it any wonder then that David would tell us, “…my heart standeth in awe of thy word.”~ Psa. 119 Interestingly, the longest chapter in the Bible (Psa.119), written by David, is all about the wonderful Word!
One of Jesus’ most scathing rebukes was, “And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did…~ Lk. 6:3
How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said,
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
“Despise the Word, love the world; love the Word, despise the world.” ~ rds
