I have learned change is a part of this ever-changing world. Like it or not, it is an established fact, and wishing it were not so will not change it.
Our bodies change every seven to ten years; we have four changes of the seasons, etc. By the way, to prove my point of the law of change , we’re told in the Bible, referring to the seasons, while the earth remaineth they will not cease.
We cannot change change! This being the case, we need to learn to adjust accordingly, like an adjustable wrench.
I find as one gets older change can become a blight instead of a blessing. When my mother’s eyesight began to diminish, I bought her a large push-button, numbered land-line phone. It upset her at the time, since she thought she couldn’t learn to use it like her old rotary one. Later, after a talk she accepted it, telling us afterward what a help it was.
We who have God need never fret when the colors of life change from beautiful to drab. “ For I am the LORD, I change not.”
Change and decay in all around I see
O Thou who changest not, abide with me
