Changeless Prayer
“And Gideon said unto Him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of…~ Jud. 6:13
I have mentioned in past articles of reading after an Ultra-Dispensationalist some years ago, who said the only prayer saints are to pray today is found in Paul’s writings as found in Phil. 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
That is, make your request known to God and leave the rest to Him. According to this heretical teaching, God has changed His modus operandi of traditional Biblical prayer. The norm then becomes asking; but as to receiving an answer, well that is questionable.
His promised answers to our prayers are no longer the standard. Such promises as; “Call unto me, and I will answer thee…Hear my prayer, O LORD, …in thy faithfulness answer me…I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me…Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer…he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee…”
My son Andrew and I have had many long discussions on this matter of God, seemingly, not answering prayers today as in Bible times, and Church history. There are some exceptions. Whatever answer you come up with, lack of faith, etc., one thing you may be sure of, HE HAS NOT CHANGED HIS METHOD AND MANNER OF ANSWERING PRAYER! "For I am the LORD, I change not..."
