“I I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present…a living sacrifice…unto God”~Rom. 12:1
I have learned over time that sacrifice has become outdated in many Christian circles, despite of the fact Christendom was built upon it. Our Founder proves this to be so. It seems it is no longer fashionable among God’s sheep to follow in "THE LAMB’S " bloody footsteps!
Our God in His garden was the first to offer up a sacrifice showing us all such future sacrifices were to be the best of its kind. Leviticus is a book of sacrifice. The Bible tells us our prayers, thanksgiving, devotion, giving, and our service are all to be sacrificial! The scriptures say, “With such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
Sacrifice is the ultimate cost; look what it cost God! What cost are we willing to pay?
I gave My life for thee,
My precious blood I shed,
That thou might ransomed be,
And raised up from the dead;
I gave, I gave My life for thee,
What hast thou giv’n for Me?
I gave, I gave My life for thee,
What hast thou giv’n for Me?
I suffered much for thee,
More than thy tongue can tell,
Of bitt’rest agony,
To rescue thee from hell;
I’ve borne, I’ve borne it all for thee,
What hast thou borne for Me?
I’ve borne, I’ve borne it all for thee,
What hast thou borne for Me?
What sobering thoughts! It should make us all ashamed…I know it does me.
