“Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.”~ 1 Chron. 13:9
We are all guilty of referring to others as, “control freaks.” That is defined as "someone who feels an obsessive need to exercise control over themselves and others and take command of the situation at hand.” But if the truth be known, none are exempt from this morbid mannerism. As naturally insecure people, we lose our peace when we are no longer in control-- or you might say, when we’re out of control.
I texted my son yesterday regarding a thought I had to see if he agreed, and he does. At the root of our worries is a loss of control of our own life or the lives of others. This invariably is when the sleepless nights, nail biting, and spiritual decline kicks in. The fact is, no one is ever in complete control of anything or anyone! God alone is the ultimate controller; ask Uzza, if you don’t believe me.
We all need an indelible sign in our lives (akin to that of "wet paint"); it should read, “Do not touch!” To be involved is one thing, to be entangled is another. Led of God, as His representative is accepted in all cases; but to do so at our own bidding is never justified in God’s eyes. You will never find The Man Christ Jesus in the latter of these two situations!
It is good to know, in any and all matters, that God is in control!

Amen. As I get older it seems that I need to be reminded of this several times a day! Good words, sir.
