“Now go, write it before them…and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come...”~ Isa. 30:8
“Thus speaketh the LORD God…saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.”~ Jer. 30:2
A few loved ones, friends and readers have encouraged me to invest in one of the three entities mentioned in this article's title. To keep a daily diary of my life, a journal of my earthly journeys, or personal notes from my day to day devotional readings. I have attempted all three of these over time, but gave up early on into whichever one I began. By the way, Barnes and Noble has a great selection of each of the three mentioned, if you’re interested.
I am not opposed to any of the listed trio; it’s just not for me- not my niche, so to speak. In fact the above scriptures seem to support this truth. Other than our lives being our legacy (and that’s most important), there should be some type of addendum along with it. I have found that all of the above-listed suggestions are found in my writings. For this reason, I set aside the three items. I found I was only repeating myself in my articles, in both my older blog and present Scribblings from the Scriptures.
Admittedly I like things simple, uncomplicated, and easy to grasp. My motto is, “Plan it big, keep it simple.” I’m not gifted as many are in categorizing a variety of things in their mind; though I admire those who are so gifted. I am a “this one thing I do” type.
We learn much more about Paul from his writings than from Luke’s historical biography of him in Acts. For example, his autobiography in 2 Corinthians. In D.J. Fant’s biography of A.W. Tozer he wrote, "I interpreted the man from his own writings.” I hope my loved ones, friends and readers will do the same with this Old Disciple, after my passing.
