Many have difficulty in their attempt at harmonizing the pseudo problem of God’s love for sinners with the same ending up in Hell. But when we take the whole canon of truth, as found in the Bible and compare scripture with scripture as the Holy Ghost teaches us to do, the difficulty disappears.
First, let it be understood God sends no one to Hell. He or she goes there of their own free volition. That is, they chose to enter the City of the Damned. God does not make our choices for us, but He does tell us the best to choose. “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”~ Deut. 30:19
We are told in the Holy Writ that God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked. His great love pursues us from the womb to the tomb! He puts up every roadblock imaginable to get us to take the right and main road. But in spite of this man, in general, continues on the side road that is the service road.
If an individual goes to Hell they go as an intruder! Hell was never intended to be their eternal home. It was not created for them. “Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angel.”~ Matt. 25:41
The Word speaks of “Children of God,” and “Children of the devil.” To become part of the first you choose to receive Christ as your Savior, substitute. “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”~ Gal. 3:26. To be a part of the second group, you do nothing!
Heaven, in one sense of the word, would be Hell for the latter of the above two mentioned. They now hate and despise anything and everything that tastes of true holiness; righteousness; goodness; pure love; genuine spirituality; kindness; etc. What would it be for them to be in the presence of these and other Godly traits, not sometimes, but ALL the time?
You will never understand God’s great love for sinners until you come to the Cross!
