“Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do…”~ Ex. 6:1
Moses was at his wits end; he was at a loss in what to do in dealing with Pharaoh. As David commented in Psalms, “They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.” This must have been how Moses felt.He complains to God that things are going from bad to worse, Ex. 5:22-23.
To silence His frustrated saint and quiet his mind, the Lord says, “Now shalt thou see what I will do…” God works best in a crisis! He reminds Moses of a previous promise, “And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go,” Ex. 3:20.
As Matthew Henry puts it, “Pharaoh was at his height of pride and Israel at their lowest depth of misery.” This is when the adage comes true, “Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity.” You can be sure, when God takes matters into His own hands, everything is going to change! It then goes from expecting to seeing.
A Sunday School teacher was teaching about Moses parting the Red Sea. Little Johnny shook his head. Seeing this, the teacher said, “Johnny, you don’t believe God opened the Red Sea?!” To which he replied, “Why yeah, if you’re gonna put God in it.” God always makes the difference.
Whether nationally or individually, when you put God in it, everything changes!
