Concerning the light of God’s Glory: we are reflectors not originators. Like the sun and the moon, the latter gets its light from the former. Both Testaments, Old and New, indicate this (Isa.13:10 cp. Mk.13:24).
Although we as sinners come far short of the Glory of God (Rom. 3:23), yet in God’s Great Grace, He places it upon His elect saints. It is prevalent among those who spend time alone in God’s presence, “...they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus,” (Acts 4:13).
Moses is a good example of this, “And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend…And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him,” (Ex. 33:11;34:35) The purpose of the vail was Moses did not want it to fade, “[the]…glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away,” (2 Cor. 3:7).
How important this was to darling David, “Make thy face to shine upon thy servant,” (Psa. 31:16). May Aaron’s blessed benediction upon God’s own be true in our lives also, “The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace,” (Num. 6:24-26).
“A Godly countenance is one of God’s open rewards for spending time alone with Him in secret.”~ rds
