"HE IS RISEN"-ARE YOU?
"He is risen...If ye then be risen with Christ..."~ Matt. 28:6; Col. 3:1
One of the eleven mysteries revealed to Paul was our union with Christ. Our Lord hinted at it in John's gospel, chapter fifteen, but did not go into great detail. Undoubtedly it was one of those many truths that He told his disciples they were not able, at that time, to receive.
Paul's writings are so very important for Church saints today. It is in his letters we find that we died with Him; were buried with Him; raised with Him; seated in the heavenlies with Him; coming back with Him; will reign with Him; and live with Him throughout eternity!
We hear the words, "He is risen," much on this day of the year that Christians have set aside to commemorate Jesus' Resurrection; but I'd like to ask, "Are you risen?" I'm not speaking of our future physical resurrection but our present and spiritual pre-resurrection.
We are no longer earthbound creatures but have a glorious heavenly freedom. There is life and there is an abundant life. Lazarus, when raised, had life; but it was anything but abundant. He was still bound in his earthly grave clothes. He needed to be loosed!
Many professing believers today say they have life, but they still carry the stench of death upon them. The cares of this world are choking the life out of them. We are above all that! Its fears, desires, philosophy, pettiness— any and all things that have the smell of decay.
