It's Bigger Than You or Me
“Go ye therefore, and teach all ‘nations’…Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.”~ Matt. 28:19-20
“We have received grace…for obedience to the faith among all ‘nations,’ for his name.”~Rom. 1:5
The Gospel is bigger than a local church or Christian institution. Most certainly they are important, an intricate part of God’s vast plan. But the Gospel of Jesus Christ exceeds all geographical bounds. It is not local, it is universal in its scope!
A Christian needs bifocal vision. He or she needs to see both close up and far off. Our problem is not so much the former, but the latter of the two. Peter, I think, backs this up, “But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off…”
God’s Gospel is for ALL the nations of the world. Therefore, we should have a worldwide vision! Any individual or group of congregants who do not possess this distant view needs their eyes examined, that is, after their heart!
“And the ‘nations’ of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.”~ Rev. 21:24
