I've Put 'All' My Eggs In One Basket!
“And Jesus answered him…And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart (emotional), and with all thy soul (spiritual), and with all thy mind (intellectual), and with all thy strength (physical): this is the first commandment.”~ Mark 12:29-30
Some of the definitions of the little idiom, used in out title is: to risk all one has on the success or failure of one thing; to depend for your success on a single person or plan; to put all your effort or resources into doing one thing so that, if it fails, they have no alternatives left; one should not concentrate all efforts and resources in one area as one could lose everything; having all of your resources or efforts in just one possibility is very risky; don’t make everything depend on one thing or person.
I shamelessly confess to the world, this very day, I have gone contrary to the advice expressed in this worldly saying. By this I mean, I have put ‘ALL’ my confidence, hopes, plans, safe keeping, along with any and all imaginable things of this life; and the one to come, in ONE person (basket), GOD!
As they say, “It’s all or nothing,” with me; “It’s sink or swim”; “I’m all in."!
My testimony is that of Peter’s, “Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.”~ Lk. 18:28
In all these 65 years there has never been a month, week, day, minute, or second, that I have been sorry for committing my ALL to Him!
