“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”~ Prov. 4:18
Adoniram Judson once said, “The future is as bright as the promises of God.” It is not doom and gloom, but “from glory to glory.” I disagree with my precious post-millennial brethren on some of their tenets, but one thing cannot be argued, their bright outlook of the future.
There is something drastically wrong with any prophetic position that does not display this attitude. What Elihu said to Job might be applied to this sort, “And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds,” (Job 37:21). Every cloud is silver lined!
No matter what the future may hold, as another has said, God holds the future. One of the great secrets of life is always seeing past the dreary to the bright-side .
Bible saints were expert in this area, especially we see it in the life of Paul. Who, by the way, had every human reason to look at the gloomy-side. I heard a camp meeting preacher once say, “The worst thing that can happen to God's saints is for an A-Bomb to fall on them and blow them into the arms of Jesus.”
The country preacher Vance Havner, as a boy, when reading western writer Zane Grey, would always read the last chapter first. I think some should read the Good Book this way.
THE MAN ON THE WHITE HORSE WITH HIS FOLLOWERS - WINS! (Rev. 19)
I don't know about tomorrow;
I just live from day to day.
I don't borrow from it's sunshine
For it's skies may turn to grey.
I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know what Jesus said.
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.
Every step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb;
Every burden's getting lighter,
Every cloud is silver-lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eye;
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky.
I don't know about tomorrow;
It may bring me poverty.
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me.
And the path that is my portion
May be through the flame or flood;
But His presence goes before me
And I'm covered with His blood.
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand.
Amen Brother Sandlin,amen!!
Thats such a sweet way of putting it,and I'm going to save this one!
