“…to them that have obtained like precious faith with us…”~ 2 Pet. 1:1
In Peter’s two brief Epistles, he lists five things that are precious to a believer, one of which is our faith. I’m sure one reason it is so called is because it unites the weakest, as well as the strongest Christian, to Christ.
Precious faith? Yes, but we must remember, the more precious a thing is, the more counterfeits there are of it. There is a counterfeit faith that cannot quiet the heart or conquer one’s fears. We are told, there is a feigned (pretend-act) faith as well as an “unfeigned” one. There is effectual and ineffectual faith. There is an operative working faith and a workless one.
Let’s make sure that ours is not a fruitless faith.
