“...as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” ~ Rom. 6:4
To me one of the greatest proofs, if not the greatest, of Christ’s resurrection is the radical change it brought, and brings, in the life of those who have believed in and submitted to the Lordship of this risen Saviour! In the lives of His earliest followers it brought: joyfulness in place of sadness; peacefulness replaces fearfulness; there was a marked boldness instead of previous cowardliness; a sureness that expelled doubtfulness; and happiness erased forever hopelessness. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is transformational in ALL who believe! You’ll never be the same.
When Christ arose He raised to an absolutely new life, one that the Man Christ Jesus had not previously experienced. He now imparts that risen life to all who receive him. His resurrection stamp is upon each of His true saints. They walk in newness of life, as He Himself did. Not in exactness but most certainly in principle! Even in the lives of young children and adult moralists, though their outward physical lives may not change that much noticeably, there is a radical inward change in their philosophical thinking. To receive the risen Christ is to receive a new nature, DIVINE!
We can know the power of a spiritual resurrection now, Phil. 3:10. But before resurrection there must of necessity be death (2nd Coming excluded). Paul said, “I die daily.” When he rose each day he left the “old man” in the tomb of his bed, so to speak; to walk in newness of life. He held his own funeral every morning, the date on the headstone he died was of that particular day. I like the way Oswald Chambers puts it; we’re to experience a "White Funeral," daily. "Thou hast...not defiled [thy] garments...[thou] shall walk with me in white: for [thou] are worthy.”
“Resurrection speaks of change! Have you been?”
“We are more sure to arise out of our graves than out of our beds.”
