“And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and SHE FELT in her body that she was healed of that plague … And He [JESUS] SAID unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”~ Mk.5:29,34 (please read: Matt. 9:20-22; Mk. 24-34; Lk. 8:43-48)
She “felt” she was healed, but when her feelings changed, what then? I say the torture of never knowing for sure! Feelings change like the weather, ever changing. To put confidence in your feelings is like leaning on a bruised reed; that is, to depend on something unreliable, to trust something that is unworthy.
People say, “Sometimes I feel…” But all the time, “It says.”
You remember Isaac in the Old Testament went by his feelings and not by the words. How prone we are to reject God’s Sure Word, as Peter says, for our fickle feelings.
In any and all situations, I say boldly, we're always to go by the Written Word of God. “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it!” And what if we do not believe it? It is still the eternal settled Word! “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”~ Psa. 119:89
