“And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him…”~ Gen. 17:3
“And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship…”~ Josh. 5:14
“…behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face…”~ Lk. 5:12
I have a grandson who is mightily used by God as a gospel singer. Joe was just in his teens when he began professionally, although he had been singing in churches from the age of five, I believe. Almost every time we have met through these many years, at the end of our conversation, or close to it, I say, “Stay low, Joseph.”
A man on his face to the ground, before his God, is not likely to fall; he already has! Paul warns young Timothy that one who is lifted up with pride falls into the hand of the devil (1 Tim. 3:6.). "I will ascend”…"I will exalt…” (Isa. 14:13), fell from the lips of the most religious creature that was ever formed. Watch out!
Neither God, Paul, Bible believers, or any Spirit-filled saint are impressed with “Big Shots.” They are all “Little Squirts” in the eyes of the humble. Paul made reference to this type, “But of these who seemed to be somewhat, whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person…” (Gal. 2:6).
One of my favorite scenes in the movie, "The Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King" is when the king has all the “big” people kneel, while the “little” people (Hobbits) are left standing alone, towering above them. There is coming a day, when our King returns, that all God's little people will stand tall.
Remember, “He was lowly in heart.” Matt. 11: 29. Therefore let us not forget to, “STAY LOW!”
Saw Joseph in concert last night in Sullivan,MO. My husband and I love Joseph and Lindsay so much. I believe he has listened well to his Grandpa’s advice. So sweet and humble. You must be so proud of your Grandson and his ministry.❤️
