LOOKING AT THE WAVES
“But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary... But when he (Peter) saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.”~ Matt, 14:30
AN ADMONITION FROM A SONG
The children sing in Sunday School, “Be careful little eyes what you see.” Looking at the wrong things can have an adverse effect upon one. It can cause deep depression, sin in the heart, paralyzing fear, and a host of other deplorables. It is possible to produce our own problems by a look.
THE WORLD, THE FLESH, AND THE DEVIL’S GOAL
If the unholy three can divert our attention away from the object of our faith, Christ, they know we’ll sink in the sea of despair. Looking to our blessed Lord keeps our head, so to speak, above the troubled waters.
They put blinders on horses to keep them from being spooked. We need to ask our Master to equip us with a pair!
