“Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.”~ Psa. 80:3, 7, 19
“Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.”~ Psa. 85:4
“Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.”~Lam. 5:21
“Surely after that I was turned, I repented.”~ Jer. 31:19
A lady friend, one of my readers, wrote me of her concern for the spiritual condition of our country. I replied, “I trust it will please the Great Turner-Arounder, to do just that in our present situation. “The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.”~ Prov. 21:1
If a sovereign God doesn’t turn us, then we won’t be turned. When the Lord calls upon His people to turn to Him, it is to only bring them to the realization they cannot without Him. “… for without me, ye can do nothing,” Jn. 15:5. We who are on His turn-table can’t even repent unless He first puts His hand forth to turn it about, making repentance possible.
Whenever a person is free to act or choose on his or her own, he or she will invariably choose on their own behalf, what’s in their best interest, not God’s. It is Me! Me! Me! Not, Thee! Thee! Thee!
He gives ability to inability! Thank God.
