“…a place where two ways met…”~ Mk. 11:4
God does not generally make our choices for us; but He does tell us, through His man, which is the best for us, “I call heaven and earth to record this day…that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life.” ~ Deut. 30:19
Once you have chosen the right road, Satan begins a lifelong endeavor to get you to take the many detours along the way. He does not concern himself with those on a frontage road, a deviation from the main highway.
Christian, headed for the Celestial City, in Pilgrim's Progress, can attest to the fact of the unending temptation to take side-roads. Anything but the major road. The turn offs are innumerable on the main thoroughfare.
It is important to keep in mind that the right road always leads out to the right place. There can be, and will be, some trying times on the right road; but who cares as long as it leads Home?! I like the way C.S. Lewis puts it: “…the bathrooms are all ready, the towels put out, & the clean clothes are in the airing cupboard…”
Today, my friend, if you have ascertained you’re traveling on the wrong road, put your foot on the brakes, come to a screeching stop, and make a u-turn right in the middle of the road you’re traveling. And go back to where you got off!
Beautiful! No matter what age we are we all tend to like those side roads. For me "heartaches" await. Love my Savior!
