“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ~ Phil. 1:6
You can be confident of this very thing. So says the Apostle. God has no unfinished tasks. He completes what He begins. “Faithful is he who calleth you, who also will do it.”~ 1 Thess. 5:24
“The Lord…will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”~ 2 Tim. 4:18
We don’t have to take only Paul’s word, ask darling David. “And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went…And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went…Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went…Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went…Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.”~ 2 Sam.8:6,14; 1 Chr.18:6,13; Psa. 139:5-6.
The preservation of the saints is only possible because of the perseverance of God. God never leaves us alone on our road home. He journey’s with us all the way to Heaven. The “pillar of cloud” not only goes continually before us to show the way, but follows behind us to cover our backs.
"When we see such clouds, let this text come to our minds, “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night.” Exodus 13:21
The Bible is packed full of God’s promises to preserve His elect: “For the LORD…forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever.”~ Psa. 37:2 “The LORD shall preserve thee…he shall preserve thy soul.” ~Psa. 121:7 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ…to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called.”~ Jude 1:1 “The LORD shall preserve thee…he shall preserve thy soul.” ~Psa. 121:7
When the old country mother did her canning she would seal each jar, to preserve what was within, least it spoil. “In whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise…ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”~ Eph. 1:13; 4:30
