After much prayer and counsel I have come to one of the hardest decisions of my life. I want to share it with you my readers, so you can help in prayer.
I am speaking of my future sojourn on earth. I will turn 90 my next birthday. I feel it is time to move in with my son. I still get around fairly well, drive, etc. but want to make this decision on a want to basis and not wait till it's a have to one. “Surrender to” always tops a “forced to”!
The loss of independence has been called the final humiliation.
It will take effective January—2023, Lord willing. There are numerous things I will need to consider at this time, things no one else can do for me. My son Andrew is taking care of all other essentials. And I might add, doing a superb job, as always.
If you’d like my new address or cell number, just send me an email requesting it.
One last thing. I will continue my writing ministry as always. As my wife told my older daughter Leah, before the Lord took her, "KEEP YOUR DAD BEHIND THAT COMPUTER!
“I have been young, and now am old…Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth…Now also when I am old and gray headed, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come…They shall still bring forth fruit in old age.” (“Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ. I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds.”)
