Well Diggers
“Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well...'‘~ Psa. 86:4
Isaac was the well digger, we are told in Genesis chapter twenty-six: “And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water…And they digged another well…And he removed from thence, and digged another well…and there Isaac's servants digged a well…” etc.
On the other hand, his son Jacob seems to have dug only one in his lifetime. This is the one Jesus chose to be refreshed from during His dreary journey found in John chapter four. It will be worth your time to meditate on Who Jesus was and who Jacob was.
Although I may have dug only one well in my ministry I pray it can be said of mine what the woman said of Jacob’s,“the well is deep.”
As pilgrims on our journey through this dry and thirsty world, which some refer to as a wilderness, it is essential we leave a deep well(s) behind us as we travel through it.
O, the spiritual, refreshing times I have experienced on my pilgrim journey from those blessed ones who left an ever-bubbling well behind them!
Beloved, as we pass through our times in the Valley of Baca, let us be sure to leave a well!
