“The LORD hath made bare his Holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.”~Isa. 52:10
Most all have heard the Biblical story of Samson and his mighty power and the mythical tale of Atlas’s great strength holding the universe together; but few, I think, comprehend the awesome potency of God, both historically and eternally.
Our God does not make a regular habit of baring His arm; that is, rolling up His sleeve and showing His Holy muscle. He is not a showoff. He only flexes His muscle when occasion calls for it.
But when He does the world runs for the hills. At such times, when He displays His stupendous power, His enemies cry for the rocks and mountains to hide His face from them. They would rather die the excruciating pain of suffocation than face Him! The Egyptians, those of Sodom, and the Babylonians, to list a few, would vouch to this truth.
Like in Isiah’s day, when God rolls up His sleeve, it will be true of our day also. “…all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see [it].”
But such a day holds no fear for God’s elect, but rejoicing. “Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.”
