In whom [Christ]are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”~ Col. 2:3
The humorist Will Rogers, would jokingly say, “All I know is what I read in the papers.” By today’s standards, I think, he would add, “And that ain’t much of anything.”
My unblushing testimony is, “All I know about anything and everything that has to do with life, death, and eternity, I’ve learned from Jesus Christ.” Not the so-called great philosophers such as Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, who knew nothing of such invaluable truths. They had “worldly wisdom,” I grant you, but that is “Foolishness with God” (1 Cor. 3:19).
An old fashioned scrub-woman with a sixth-grade education, who loves God, reads and believes His Word, knows more about the things that truly matter, more so than all the natural intellects of this world, combined!
That brilliant intellect, the Apostle Paul, tells us he gave up everything for the knowledge of Christ. Why? Because he was wise enough to realize that it is in Christ where all true knowledge is to be found.
“Newspapers tell you what has happened; Jesus, what’s going to happen!~ rds
