The Scriptures record twenty-five exact references to, “The God of Jacob,” as well as many more close, although not exact, references such as, “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” God wasn’t ashamed to be called, “Jacob’s God,” in spite of Jacob’s sins, failures, and shortcomings. And why was this? I think it was because this unlovable character loved God with all his being in spite of the weaknesses of his flesh. God knew something about Jacob’s heart that none around him knew! And so we read,
