“And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.”~(Matthew 17:8) I was a young evangelist, just starting out, with my wife Salle Jo and our firstborn son, Andrew. God was mightily blessing our meetings; in small country churches twenty or so young couples were being saved and added to the church. We were being written up in religious periodicals in a very favorable way. It was more than I could ever have dreamed of considering the background I had come out of.
I can relate my own struggles to yours. As a new convert and the only believer in both my biological and husband's families 22 years ago, I was very enthusiastic to study and share the Word of God with people around me, though I'm not anything close to a believer of female preacher. I needed to put myself in constant check because something had gone wrong. Without a mentor beside me, I was left alone wrestling with my God. Gradually, I was brought to the light, "Do I love my Lord wholeheartedly before doing all these things?" "What does loving the Lord really mean?"... Questions I needed to answer. It took many years, and even now I cannot say I fully comprehend the profoundity. Thank you for sharing your personal journey with us.
Amen! How sweet and how true!
Thank you.
Oh if only more Pastors and Evangelist would PREACH and teach "JESUS ONLY "
Yes, that was Paul's one desire.
